The Stories Behind My Stories
Have you ever wondered where an author's story ideas come from?
People often ask if my books are based on real experiences, and the answer is—many of them are.
Some of my greatest inspiration has come from watching children explore the world with endless curiosity. Their questions, excitement, and imagination remind me that even the simplest moments can become extraordinary adventures.
Many of my stories were inspired by my own grandchildren, whose curiosity encouraged me to see everyday experiences through a child's eyes. Whether it's discovering the wonders of nature, asking questions about space, meeting fascinating animals, or imagining mysterious adventures, those moments often become the spark for a new story.
As an educator, I've always believed that books can do more than entertain. They can inspire children to ask questions, build confidence, develop empathy, and discover new interests. That's why each of my stories weaves together adventure, kindness, creativity, and learning in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
Over the years, those ideas have grown into several different book series. Some encourage children to explore science and nature, while others celebrate friendship, courage, imagination, or the excitement of solving a mystery. My coloring books extend those adventures by giving readers another creative way to connect with the stories.
The greatest compliment I can receive is hearing that a child asked a new question, discovered a new interest, or wanted to read another book after finishing one of mine.
That's why I continue writing—because every story has the opportunity to inspire curiosity, kindness, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning.
